Deirdre is an artist and business owner based in Santa Fe and New York. She grew up drawing and painting, as did her mother and grandmother. After attending Parsons School of Design for one glorious year, she dropped out and moved to the southwest to begin a love affair with the desert. Following a turbulent 2 years of art classes, camping and travel, she moved back to NYC and started a mural painting business. Though the work was fun and satisfying, after 5 years she grew tired of doing commissions for other people. She returned to her love of painting on canvas; this time paying the bills as a hairstylist. This collection of works on paper and canvas spans 2 decades and documents her life-long obsessions of big hair, buxom beauties, and the american southwest.
