Deirdre grew up drawing and painting, as did her mother and grandmother. She attended Parsons School of Design for one glorious year, and upon dropping out she moved to the great southwest to begin a love affair with the desert. After a turbulent 2 years of art classes, camping, and travel; she moved back to NYC and started a mural painting business. Though the work was fun and satisfying, after 5 years she grew tired of doing commissions for other people. She returned to her love of painting on canvas; this time paying the bills as a hairstylist. This collection of works on paper and canvas spans 2 decades and documents her life-long obsessions of big hair, buxom beauties, and the american southwest.
